“Yeah” Come On - George Morel (Strictly Rhythm, 1992)
This week I am excited / honored to be playing with NYC Disco and House legends. Billy Carroll, who started DJing in the mid-70s, and shared the decks with THE Larry Levan at Paradise Garage as well as played at Studio 54, and later held down a whole slew of residencies throughout the 90s at clubs like Tunnel, Limelight, Twilo and scores more, and Johnny Dynell, who has played at Danceteria, Crobar, Mud Club, and of course started the Jackie 60 club with his wife Chi Chi Valenti. Today, he and Billyt are still active in the scene and I can’t wait to hear what they do this week.
Hosting will be Milan, who is featured on this season’s RuPaul’s Drag Race. I’ve been a fan of Dwayne Milan’s for a while. A singer, dancer, performer and much more, the multi-talented artist has done everything from dancing / hosting / performing in clubs to broadway; he was a part of the Broadway cast of “Hairspray” and now competing in this season’s RuPaul’s Drag Race. If you’ve missed this week’s episode, you can catch it here on Logo. Milan hosted Bassment a little while back, and was not only fierce, but also very kind and sincere.
